Sapphire Manticore is the best yet in the Lost Ancients series. The writing within the series has evolved and become deeper. I didn't blast through the book in 2 nights after work but rather wanted to take my time because there's more detail in it, more depth, more intrigue. It's not over the top detail like LOTR where the reader (or just me?) snoozes for 6 pages while the dark forest is described, but rather The Sapphire Manticore has just enough to get the mind thinking - "What is Taryn's linage?", "What about that comment from the pixies?", "Why did so-n-so do that?". The story moves at an adventure pace but still gives time to absorb the details thereby completing the "mental movie" the reader creates in the mind. Summary - LOVED IT. More please!Product details

I have thoroughly enjoyed all 4 books so far. Elves, sorcerers, evil creatures, history of the world and best of all...drunken faeries!!!! Love the faeries. Highly recommend

if you like magic, elves, fairies and other colorfull beinings, all rapped up with wonderful and
funny personalities i suggest reading these asap.
So far I've loved these books. I'm still wondering what Taryn is. For some reason I think she may be the last living Ancient as she can not remember her past. Looking forward to the next book.
The group has finally reached the elves kingdom. They find new friends, old friends, treachery and betrayal. No one will walk away unchanged.
This is a wonderful world most like Robin hood days if you add in some fairies and elves hidden from humans but known about and thought dead. Evil is lurking trying to take over the world after failing last time. Can't wait for next book to be released.
I really love this series. The perpetual questions as to just what Taryn is, the hilarity of the fairies when drunk or buzzed on caffeine or just really annoyed, Alric (who vaguely reminds me of a fleshed out Flynn Ryder), and all the rest just fit the bill. I really hope the author is soon able to get the next book out which is supposedly due this month. Please, we will send dancing Minkies!
